The Blog of a Wondering Dragon

A few weeks ago the big news was the outbreak of a new strain of the flu virus nicknamed the "Swine Flu". Many people in Mexico had died and rumor was that it was headed into the USA. People in the USA panicked and many people started calling and urging their local authorities to do something. Yet now here it is several weeks later and only 3 people in the states have died from the swine flu, and in those cases there were other health problems that contributed to the death. Reality is even though this is a new strain of the flu virus, it is only a mild one, and can be controlled with normal medicines. And like all stories that people panic about, in another month or so this will be long forgotten. Which brings me to why I decided to write about it. Figured I should "document" it now so I can come back and reference it after summer when people will be like "swine what?"
