Job Offers

It's no secret that I work in computers. And more recently I've been trying to break into the Server Administration side. I've got resumes out clearly stating that as the job I'm looking for, and my experience has even netted me a few calls. Now it is with that in mind that I have to ask, how is a Network/Server Admin job similar to a "Financial Services Representative"? The reason I ask is because I have already received two e-mails from head hunter groups, that after reading my resume mind you, thinking I would be a great candidate for this job.

A further Google search shows that there are indeed no similarities. In fact one website states: "Starting a career in financial services doesn't necessarily require a financial background." ie meaning these e-mails are someone casting a net to see if I want to switch carriers all together... Why would I want to do that when another quick Google search shows that a Server Admin makes almost twice as much as a Financial Services Representative.

And on another note. At one point I specially had it written in my resume that I am NOT looking for a PC Helpdesk call center job. But all I got during that time were calls for those jobs. I even had a quick chat with one guy where after I listed my current salary and experience he actually said. "oh well I guess you probably wouldn't be interested in this job"

*sigh* Seriously does anyone really read a resume anymore!!
