Special Chat Features (mini FAQ)
In other words, please read over these before you chat here!!
- Auto-Ban: aka auto-kick: This script is equipped with a curse word filter and has a limit on how many times you can curse in one post.
If you come close to the limit the system will warn you. If you reach and/or exceed that limit you will be temporally banned from the chat room to force you to cool down before chatting again.
- Private Messages: or PM is avaiable only to those users who register their usernames. However, you can still receive PM's from registered users.
It should also be noted that you can only send PM's to users currently in the room. And PM's DO move down the chat just like normal posts.
- Profiles: Upon your first post/visit into a chat room, basic statisical data will be saved. This data can be viewed at anytime by anyone.
So if you are paranoid about people tracking you, then I suggest you not chat here. Also note, that your IP address will be viewable to everyone untill you register your username.
- HTML tags & BBCode: As with most chatrooms and Message Boards, html tags are not allowed. The less-than (<) and greater-than (>) signs of html tags will show up in chat as just that.
However, basic BBcode IS enabled in these chat rooms.
- Registered User: Finally ofcourse what is this deal with being a registered uesr? Well the deal is,
if you go and create a username on the message boards/forums here, you have also just secured that username for the chatrooms as well.
From that point on, no one can use your username without first entering in your password. As an added bonus this will also allow you to send
PM's to other users in the chat room, and hide you IP from the chat room profile pages. As well as a link to your forums profile will be added to
the chat profile pages.
